our mission
Poverty and economic growth
In many developing countries, poverty is a huge factor and leads to tough work conditions and bad health, no education and hunger. But how do developing countries not develop? It’s simple. They don’t make enough money on their export to grow, but instead, they get paid just to survive and nothing more.
Project LIC focuses on removing the big middlemen and connects directly to the local Indian farmers to simply pay them more. In that way, we can start creating more well-paid jobs, better work conditions and still have the phenomenal quality we expect from our coffee beans.
In many charity organizations, loads of money go to administration, western workflow and corruption. Therefore, we have made a system that connects directly to the farmer, so the farmer gets 98% of the retail price.
So drink your LIC coffee with an even better conscience while supporting Local Indians to build a better world for us all to live in.

Why Coffee Is Great For you
Coffee is often the first drink you have in the morning, this is due to the caffeine in the coffee that helps you wake up faster, but what is it that happens inside your body, to help sharpen your mind in the mornings.
It can be split into 3 functions, theobromine, paraxanthine and theophylline, which is what helps you in the morning. Theobromine helps with the transport of oxygen and other nutrients, to the brain. Paraxanthine increases the rate at which fat is burned in your body and helps to start the digestive system. Theophylline increases your pulse and helps your ability to concentrate. But this is only some of the functions of coffee.
Espresso coffee can also be very mild to your stomach, depending on how long the beans have been roasted, they can help reduce the production of stomach acids.
The Dark Side Of The Indian Cofee Market
taste.
Even though India accounts for 4,5% of the global coffee market, which is by some sources regarded as the second most sold product on earth after oil, a lot of the workers still live under poor working conditions, and with very low wages in most of India.
This is largely due to the high employment fees, that the farmers have to pay the work brokers, this can be up to around ⅓ of their overall wage, that they earn from working a farm.
Another concern for the Indian Coffee industry is the employment of child labor at the farms, which has been increasing over the years.
This will also become even worse, as the product becomes more mechanized which will put the kids working under these poor conditions, in even more danger than they already are due to, lack of health insurance for kids doing very physical work, for many hours a day.

How You Can Help The Local Indian Farmers
The way you can help the local Indian farmers is by purchasing their products, this will help the farm be able to have higher wages and such to give better conditions for the farmers.
Another thing you can look out for is the “fair trade” logo. Fairtrade shows that the farmers who work at the farm are treated well, they get decent wages, are treated well, are paid during sickness and no child labor has been used in the production of the specific product.
The fair trade is a symbol of better work conditions, that is used for products produced in underdeveloped countries, such as India.
